Science Current Events
Requirements
1. Current events will be assigned once every nine week grading period. Each student will be given a due date for his/her current event, and the date should be written in the agenda book.
2. The current event is to be analyzed/summarized by completing an Article Analysis Sheet (example included). It should be typed or written neatly in black or blue pen. You must use your own words!
3. The article must be glued, taped, stapled, or attached somehow to the back of a piece of construction paper or poster board with the Article Analysis Sheet attached to the front. The construction paper should be cut into a shape that relates to the article, or you must include an illustration that relates to it. Your summary WILL NOT be accepted without the articled attached!
4. The article must be discussed with the class on your assigned day. You SHOULD NOT read the article or summary to the class. You need to be familiar with the article so that you can just tell us about it. Be sure to explain how it relates to science.
Articles
1. The article may come from various sources. You may use an article from the newspaper, a magazine, or the Internet.
2. The article must be at least four (4) paragraphs in length.
3. The article must have something to do with science. This can be your choice, as long as it pertains to the subject of science.
