Science Portfolio
**4th Term Portfolio due Thursday, May 15
Remember to simply “add to” your portfolio. DO NOT take anything out of it. You need to add another title page to mark the beginning of the 4th term section.
Science Portfolio Requirements
1. During each grading period, you will collect 5 assignments (called artifacts) to place into your science portfolio (the 2” binder). This portfolio is a collection of your work completed during the grading period. You may include homework, lab work, projects, tests, quizzes, class work, or any other science work.
2. For each artifact, you will write a paragraph (called a reflection).
Use the following questions to help you complete your reflection paragraph:
*Why did you include this artifact in your science portfolio?
*What did you learn from completing this assignment?
*Explain how you could improve your performance on this assignment.
Be sure to be specific and use terms, concepts, and vocabulary learned in class when explaining what was learned on each artifact (I learned about the scientific method is NOT specific. I learned that there are 7 steps in the scientific method IS specific.) The paragraph must be word-processed, and you need to illustrate each reflection. This may be done using computer graphics, clipart, or hand drawings (in color).
3. The cover page of the portfolio should be illustrated and include your name, class period, and grading term. Please use plastic sheet protectors for each artifact/reflection. The portfolio will be graded according to the rubric on the back of this paper. This will count as a test grade.
